No 1. Colony size for budgerigars
Colony size for budgerigars depends on the pairs you are going to buy. A place where two or more pairs live will be called a colony. We are going to talk about a colony of 10 pairs. For 10 pairs of budgerigars colony must be as 8*8*8. Its the minimum size I am talking about if you have a larger cage its good. Just make sure they can easily fly.
What will happen if the budgerigar colony is not large enough?
Well I f you don’t want to follow my instructions you cant but if you don’t follow my instructions related to budgerigar colony size. Then you will face the following problems.
a) budgerigar fights
b) Lack of flying space
c) You will not be able to observe them quickly
d) budgerigar will become unhappy and may breed
e) There will be little space for inserting nest boxes

No 2. Pairs of budgerigars
You will have to buy equal number of males and females otherwise you will only see fights between your birds.

You should buy a birds which meets the following criteria
a) Bird should be healthy
b) It must have complete feathers
c) It should be young one
Things you should check while buying a bird
a) Check its eyes
b) Check its feathers
c) Check its legs
d) Check its fly
e) Check its nails
f) Make sure it does not have any kind of diease
g) Make sure to buy from a trusted seller
No 3. Colony location
Colony must be build with the best material avaialable. You should make your colony where you go very little. No cats or mice should be present so they can breed without any afraid. Try to provide them privacy. Colony must be placed where sunlight comes. Place must be warm in winters and cold in summer.
